Hiram Audio Labs is the working project of a musician raised in Appalachia, proudly hailing from the 706 and 423. My musical education was spent sweating on the pavement at Warped Tour and the dusty roads of Bonnaroo, going to midweek services at the Ryman, and bouncing up and down in Heaven at the old Masquerade. I spent my youth scouring pawn shops, piecing together cheap guitars and amps to just "make it work," and kept at it.

Eventually, I got my hands on some decent gear and the time to actually learn it. This project is the nexus of those years. It is where sketching, photography, and painting meet old Appalachian traditions like hiking and gardening. Most days, I find myself fresh out of the creek with dirt from the garden still under my nails, sitting down to turn EQ knobs and ride faders.

Out of necessity, I taught myself guitar, bass, drums, keys, and how to navigate a DAW. I consider myself a professional curious amateur. Over the past year, I’ve been eating a lot of humble pie, learning the hard way that playing music for twenty years doesn't mean tracking and producing it comes easy (pro tip: if you are heading down this road, just buy an SM57).

Currently, I am self-producing a 5-song cassette EP. I have a deep love for physical media and a massive vinyl collection, but cassettes were my first introduction to music via an old Sony Walkman. I’m thrilled to see tape culture returning, and I’m just excited to build something tangible for that world again.
